At Forest Sofa we pride ourselves on delivering high-quality furniture to our customers. We are a well-established UK Upholstery Manufacturer with two sites who are looking to expand the team. This position will primarily be based in Salford however will require travel on occasion.
The person we are looking for would have previous quality control experience.
As a Quality Controller you will play a vital role in ensuring our products meet the high standard we offer to our customers as well as improving our processes. You will work closely with the Production team and other departments to maintain and enhance quality across the manufacturing process. We are looking for someone who has a proactive approach to identifying and resolving quality issues.
Key responsibilities:
- Inspect products at the end of the production to ensure compliance with company quality standards.
- Photograph final products.
- Work with other departments to trace root causes of quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Collect and report data on internal and external non-conformance, identifying trends and developing measurable KPIs.
- Review supplies and recommend alternatives to ensure the best quality.
- Contribute to packaging reviews, driving improvements to ensure products are presented in a manner that upholds our brand image.
- Create quality alerts and visual aids to address detected quality issues throughout the manufacturing process.
- Occasionally assist in resolving customer non-conformance issues, which may require travel.
- Meet with retail partners to discuss their requirements and assist with quality issues they may have.
We are looking for:
- Previous experience in quality inspection, preferably within the furniture industry.
- Strong understanding of quality standards and root cause analysis.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships quickly.
- Ability to work independently, with a hands-on approach and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- The ability to challenge constructively and champion quality initiatives.
The role:
- Monday – Thursday 7:30am – 4:30pm, Friday 7.30am – 1.30pm.
- Overtime often available; Saturdays
- Pay rate is dependent on experience and quality of work up to £28.5K per annum, based on 39 hours per week.
- Pay negotiable depending on experience.
- Three-month training / induction period once completed pay will be reviewed.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 – 3 years of Quality Control experience.
- Currently working in the trade or have done so within the last 4 years.
